Note from the Publishers
spacer (1K)
We are very pleased to begin our third year of publishing the Equine Resouce Guide of Arizona.  The guides have received national attention as horse owners of all breeds and participating in all disciplines find them to be both comprehensive and useful.  Our guides and website have become the premier horse resource in each state, and they continue to grow and improve as we enter 2009.  Thanks for your support of our publication, and we look forward to serving you in the coming year!   ~ Cathleen & Rachel Prudhomme

The Light that Heals!
spacer (1K)
Infared Therapy, or "Light Therapy", is a non-invasive, side-effect free therapy that has shown to reduce recovery time by upwards of 50%.  The technology which has been used around the world for over forty years is often considered as a holistic or alternative therapy, even though it is frequently used in mainstream medicine to relieve pain and inflammation, and expediting the recovery of wounds and incisions while reducing the risk of infection.

Who Can Benefit from Light Therapy?
spacer (1K)
Those involved with show and competition equine athletes are all too familiar with the sudden injuries that often arise, but even more familiar with the soreness, bruising, and other small injuries that affect our animals' performance.  With the use of infrared light therapy, problems can often be addressed and treated within hours of competition allowing for your animals' performance to be at its peak.  Regardless of our animals' discipline, they all need routine maintenance care.  Without, performance suffers, and more serious problems often occur.

How Does Light Therapy Work?
spacer (1K)
Photon energy that is output from light emitting diodes (LEDs) at a specific wavelength, power level, and frequency is absorbed by the skin and underlying tissue.  The penetrating light stimulates a photobiological response within the cells which causes an increase of circulation on the cellular level allowing for additional oxygen and nutrients to be provided to damaged and unhealthy cells.  With an effective depth of penetration of 30-40 mm, infrared light is effective for the treatment of bone, joints, deep muscle and accupuncture/pressure points.  The less deep penetrating visible red light is particularly effective in treating surface area problems such as wounds preventing scaring and infection.

National Rescue Ride - Sunday, October 19, 2008
spacer (1K)
Join us to help America's horses!  The National Rescue Ride is a day where all horse lovers across the country will join in a Rideathon/Walkathon in their own area.  The purpose is to raise funds for the charity the rider/walker chooses to support by asking friends and family to sponsor in dollar amounts.  Because it is the same day for all charities participating nationwide, it will raise awareness for the equine charities in our state.  Go to the National Rescue Ride website to select the ride that benefits the equine charity of your choice.  We will be participating in the AERO ride that day, and there are numerous other very deserving Arizona equine charities listed on the website.
