Sports Psychology for Show Prep
spacer (1K)
In the show ring, any edge a competitor can get is worth the time and effort.  Sports Psychology has much to offer the competitive equestrian.  Read some excellent tips from Diane Boyce, owner of Moving Forward Dressage in Cave Creek, who also has a BS in Health Psychology and has completed Masters-level coursework in Sports Psychology.  These tips will give you some very helpful ideas to try out, and will also inspire you to train for "the mental game", a side of competition that is often neglected in traditional show prep.  See the full article on how to use sports psychology to achieve your goals at www.MovingForwardDressage.com.

Bringing Horses to Optimal Health Naturally
at Grand Adventures Ranch
spacer (1K)
It can be overwhelmingly difficult to find easy and straightforward information about biologically appropriate equine nutrition and holistic approaches toward health.  Kay Aubrey-Chemene, RMT, dreramed of a place where horses could return to physical and emotional health, and their human partners could learn better ways to support that health.  Her dream began its progress to reality in 2005 when Grand Adventures Ranch - Holistic Equine Wellness Center opened in historic Sonoita southeast of Tucson, Arizona.  Owners, interns and students can stay at the ranch while learning holistic approaches toward equine health and assist with the wellness process of the horses.  Learn more at www.GrandAdventuresRanch.com.

Arizona State 4-H Team has an amazing Quiz Bowl Experience
spacer (1K)
After months of preparation, the Arizona State 4-H Horse Bowl team attended the Western National Region Horse Classic wherre they competed against members from across the U.S. & Canada.  In spite of illnesses, they had an excellent showing, competing in four rounds.  Coach Dru Alberti commented, "I was very proud of my girls.  They all had one or more strong rounds as individuals, yet as a team they were even more fantastic."  Not only did the 4-H members participate in the Quiz bowl competition, four members had an opportunity to tour Colorado State University, which has an excellend equine studies program.  "It was an awesome experience and anyone who qualifies to go should do it!  We met so many other kids and collegiate 4-H'ers from around the country...even Hawaii!  It was a lot of work to study and prepare, but well worth it.", said Paige Linne.
